Can Ignite be ServiceGuarded. I am using an Ignite server for make_net_recovery and would like to know if the Ignite software and the archive location can be put into a ServiceGuard package successfully. I am running hpux 11.11 and Ignite version B.4.1.55.

Re: ServiceGuarding Ignite
I do not think ignite software uses the server's MAC address anywhere that would prevent it from serviceguarding. I haven't seen HP mentioning ignite on Serviceguard either.
It involves quite a bit of configuration and you would probably the first one to try it out. It involves NFS exporting the NFS directories, configuring floating IP in instl_adm etc., along with moving the filesystems of /opt/ignite, /var/opt/ignite and /etc/opt/ignite.

You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try

Re: ServiceGuarding Ignite
This has been tried, and found NOT to work!.
Ignite has a problem that revolves around the ip address (relocatable ) and other isues.
