If you know the service name use: ps -ef | grep ServiceName
If you know the port use netstat to check what is listening on that port.

Hi,
the services are listed in the /etc/services.
You can check on this file .Otherwise you can
able to check the particular daemon assciated with it is running by
ps -ef | grep -i
