Re: set up lan console password
Telnet to the lan concole and select the "SO" option. The system will ask if you want to change the GSP wide parameters, say no at this point. The next question will be about login user information and you can make change at that point.

Solution
In GSP, SO command is used to modify the security parameters like user accounts, login timeouts, allowed password faults.
With SO commmand, you can add users by answering "No" for the question "Do you want to modify the GSP wide parameters ?"
In addition, the first user will be a administrator when you add users.
Here is an explanation about DIAL-BACK, MODE, USER'S STATE.
If configured, when the user accesses the GSP via the modem port, the GSP will hang up and dial the user back.
USER'S STATE : Enabled/Disabled
A disabled user's login will not be accepted.
MODE : Single/Multiple
It the mode is set to single, the state will be changed to disabled after the first login.
