hello all
i have a 11.11 system with Veritas running on it. i included all of my disks in Veritas except for the root disk. my question is , how do i set up raw disk on those disk in Veritas?is it possible?if not possible, what's the next step?do i need to take the disks out of Veritas? i have (4) 4GB disks that i need to partition into (8) 2GB raw disks. any help would be greatly appreciated. do i need to setup newfs on it??

Re: set up raw disks
You just need to create a vg with all those 4-4gig disks.
Then create 8-2gig lvols but do not newfs them (this will leave them in raw state)
If you need to access them, use (for raw device) /dev/vgxx/rlvoly
If you need further info or command detail, here I am.

thanks for the reply. if the disks are under Veritas Storage Administrator. Should i take them out for Veritas and then use LVM to create those vg and lvol.
