Setprivgroup

Hi ....
Could someone please advise me !!!
I am running HP-UX 10.20 & Servers with HP-UX 11.00.All running Sybase 11.0.3.3
I had a problem with asyncronous settings on HP-UX 11.00 - I was advised to create the file /etc/privgroup with the following entry - sybase RTPRIO MLOCK CHOWN.
Now on HP-UX 10.20 - Sybase has lost the asyncronous I/O - When issuing "getprivgrp" - the following shows - "global privileges: CHOWN".
Do I need to take the same action as i did for HP-UX 11.00 or do i just " mknod /dev/async".And reset my kernal setting???
