I was just thinking of changing my system localisation to Japanese. I have never done this before and not aware of the process to follow. Can anyone help me with the exact procedure to do so.
Thanks U very much in Advance.

Girish.

Re: Setting System Locale to Japanesse
Thanks for your reply.
But can anyone summarise the steps involved.
What is could collect is to set following variables on the system:
LANG=
LC_CTYPE="C"
LC_COLLATE="C"
LC_MONETARY="C"
LC_NUMERIC="C"
LC_TIME="C"
LC_MESSAGES="C"
LC_ALL=
Well this is what i have on the system. Now to change it to Japanesse locale what should be their values.
My keyboard is PS/2.
The doc above talks about setting the Language/territory/codeset to Japanese/Japan/SJIS.
But how do i do that and is that all that i need to do.
Thanks and regards,
Girish

Re: Setting System Locale to Japanesse
sorry to reply this late.
could you do:
# locale -a|grep -i jp
which will tell whether the japanese locale is available.
if not, you have to install the Asian filesets if u r on 11i. r u?
regards.

Re: Setting System Locale to Japanesse
Yeah i made lot of progress afterwards and almost done except that IMS part.
I have required Asian Bunlde and Japanese Fileset as well,
But now i am not able to set Input Method Server. I am using "dtimsstart" command but don't know why i am not getting it's menu.
Simply returns me the hash prompt.

Girish
