Re: Setting up a US Robotics External Modem

Hi,

Create a modem device thru sam >perpheral Device>Terminal/Modems> Select port, speed (usually 9600)
Connect a modem cable (9-25 pin) from port to modem. It should be pretty simple.

The easiest way is SAM, Uday has mentioned that. What is your modem for, dial out or dial in, because it is different configuraiton. Maybe I can help you if you provide more details.

Re: Setting up a US Robotics External Modem

Also go to the US Robotics website and look at their documentation, they have specific jumper settings for using the modem attached to a unix box.

My personal experience is that HP modems are much easier to configure and use than third party products.
