sftp id creation

I need to create an sftp id with read and write access to a directory named /sap_interface/bds/john . Please let me know how do I create it.

Shalom,

sftp uses /etc/passwd users.

useradd userid

You can look at the man page in assigning the home directory.

The directory:
/sap_interface/bds/john

Access is normally controlled by permissions.

IF userid is the only user that needs access, userid can own it, if you need other users to have to plan out appropriate group permissions and make sure userid is in the right groups to have read/write access.
