Hi,
I have a two nodes cross subnet cluster with a dedicated heartbeat server.
Last week a guy mounted some new blades and the virtual switches within the blade rebooted itself. So both nodes couldn't send their heartbeat packages for about 1 minute. After a certain time both nodes crashed.
Could somebody explain why Service Guard crashes.
I'm expecting that at least the failover nodes takeover the package.
Cheers
Steve

Solution
Shalom,
When heartbeat is lost, TOC crashes one of the service guard nodes, whichever loses the race to the device they share, usually a shared disk.
If heartbeat stays down and both nodes can't talk to this shared device, they both crash.
SG is working exactly as it should.
