Re: sg lan interface number???

Hi

Recommended number of LAN cards for MC/SG setup is three
1 for heartbeat monitoring
2 for Active Lan
3 for backup Lan

For details on configuring , refer to MC/SG setup manual

Re: sg lan interface number???

Hi,

1. 2
2. 1
3. The subnet of Heartbeat Lan should be different than the public network. Heart beat messages shuould not flood regular public network.
Use different Subnet/IP addreses for HeartBeat interfaces.
Yes.
4. Standby interface becomes active when the active interface fails and yes IP add for the same need not be configured becuase it will take over the IP of failed Interface. It can be configured for both Heartbeat interface as well as Public Interface. Public interface IP is your stationary IP. Virtual IP is the IP given to Packages. They behave differently. Packages with virtual IP will immediately fail over to another node in cluster in case of node failure.
5. yes. refer to the explanation above.

Hope that helps.
