Is the product that I can download for a trial copy - a beta product?? If not how long will the trial copy be good for. Then what happens?? How much will it cost to purchase this product? How long will it take to install and/or replace the trial copy.

Only 11i supports shadow. If you need the protection on older systems, then convert to a trusted system. In fact, I would still use trusted over shadow on 11i.

man tsconvert for info on converting.

I think you can get the shadow package at http://software.hp.com for free.
