Shadow Password and NIS

Hi,

I know shadow passwords are not supported with the stanadard version of NIS. But I am aware that a later version, ONCPlus, is available for 11.31.

This has a later version of NIS which does support shadow passwords.

Is there a later version of NIS available for 11.23 that does support shadow passwords?

Also, if I install the Standard Mode Security Extensions bundle on 11.23, will this give me any issues with NIS?

Is it supported?

I can't see any compatibility issues mentioned in the release notes.

Hi Alan,

NIS support of Shadow passwords was introduced on 11.31. There is no support for this feature on 11.23 at this time, nor do I know of any plans to add support. I'm not familiar with the Security Extensions bundle so I cannot speak to any compatibility issues with NIS.
