Shared tape & ATS pkg
Hello,
Could you please tell me when can I use the Shared tape and the ATS package? Are these both are for the same purpose?
Is the following statement is correct?
"ats_pkg is for to run the no-clustered system backups"
Thanks,
Nikee

Re: Shared tape & ATS pkg
Veritas Netbackup allows for the use of tape devices by more than one hpux system.
Can't answer the second question.

Re: Shared tape & ATS pkg
ATS is a methodology supplied with Serviceguard that allows a tape library to be shared between two clustered nodes, using Fibre Channel SCSI Muxes.
This allows a backup package to be created that is highly available, controlling the tape library by special commands.
Where the backups are "accepted" from does not matter.
Due to the advancement in technology and software, ATS is no longer being enhanced, and will in fact not be available for Serviceguard on HP-UX later than 11.11.
