SHMMAX limit - V2200 on 11.0

I'm running Sybase on a V-2200 with 12g of memory. My shmmax is set at 1.2g and I'd like to increase this to (if possible) 3g. SAM continues to report that the limit for shmmax is 1.7. How can I increase this shmmax to 3g or is there a hard limit as to how high I can take it?

You need this patch: PHKL_24032

and the max is :

*range shmmax<=0x40000000000

Sorry Harry, that patch is for 11.11.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Which is 4,398,046,511,104 in decimal: A little more than the V can handle in memory :-))

Re: SHMMAX limit - V2200 on 11.0

Hi John,

Take a look at the threads below for more info on "shmmax". The Limit is 1GB on 11.0/32 bit and 4TB on 11.0/64Bit.

http://docs.hp.com//hpux/onlinedocs/os/11i/kcparams/KCparam.ShMmax.html

Hope this helps.
