Should we implement HPU-UX or LINUX on the same type of machine
For the same machine, if we have the choice of implementing either hp-ux or linux, which one of them I should choose, and what are your considerations?
Thanks!

Re: Should we implement HPU-UX or LINUX on the same type of machine
First, what type of server? Given the choice I will almost always choose HP-UX if it is an option.
This is keeping in mind that the current servers that one can buy new, and that can run HP-UX, are based on the Itanium processor. Keeping that in mind, I don't think Red Hat is supporting RHEL on Itanium any more but I think Novell is still supporting SuSE on Itanium.

Re: Should we implement HPU-UX or LINUX on the same type of machine
The linux distros for Integrity systems are in maintenance mode only. HPUX on integrity is probably the best choice (unless you have a application that uses VMS). If your application is available for both hpux and Linux HPUX is probably your best choice. Even Oracle 11GR2 is supported on HPUX and would be a good choice of platform too.
