Hello Everyone
My System: HP-UX 11.11/Mem 4GB/Patch included/
DB: Oracle 8.1.7
When I create DB, I got a problem SIGSEGV following as
SIGSEGV 11* segmentation violation
stackbase=785EE000, stackpointer=785EFE18, pc=C304D70C
Exactly, When I clicked "create db now", it's OKAY. But, if I choosed "save a scripts", dbassist was down.
So, I changed my kernel parameters.
I read others recommandations. I sure to fix the size of Kernel, if others problems are same.
Also, I changed the JDK Version. There wasn't no relationship with JDK that I think.
Anyone has a idea about this problem.
Pleas let me know that.
THANK YOU!! HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Solution
Last post I had mentioned about the env. settings
More than that I would like to know whether you have two installations on the same machine.
What are the oracle variables?
Do you have
ORACLE_HOME
ORACLE_SID
ORA_NLS33
set to.
Make sure you are pointing to the right directory!
Try this
$ORA_NLS33=$ORACLE_HOME/ocommon/nls/admin/data
You had the points assigned but please revert on these settings
Do you have multiple Oracle homes here?

Re: SIGSEGV Problems on Oracle
If its not an environment problem, look at the kernel:
shmmax up to 25% of memory, defined as ram plus swap.
shmseg make sure you have enough. Use the script I am attaching to monitor high water marks on the kernel.
swapinfo -tam
