simple swinstall
This is driving me nutts.
I am trying to write a script to install the latest patches from hp.
i can not seem to get the swinstall command line right to where it will install the *.depot files within a non-interactive install.
Can anyone help me here with the proper syntax and flags that should be used. I am going through the man page now...but this is gonna be a while for me to figure out.
Hopefully one of you guys have already been here before...and can help me out.
Thanx in advance.

Re: simple swinstall
Hi Joshua,
You can use following script.
PATCHDIR=
LOG=/tmp/sw.log
for i in `ls -d1 $PATCHDIR/*.depot`
do
swinstall -s @ $i > $LOG 2>&1
done

Re: simple swinstall
Hi,
Below is a posting that has a script, this may be of assistance.
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x9411cb60e503d6118ff40090279cd0f9,00.html
This link has a similar question but using 'swpackage'
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x5b58039599eed5118ff40090279cd0f9,00.html
I usually use 'swinstall' in interactive mode, as I have total control over what is going on. From the command line you could use the -p option to see the install in preview mode.
Cheers
~Michael~
