single user mode in rx8640
Hi,
how will go to single user mode in rx8640 itanium server with hpux 11.23?.and Pls let me know ,this erver having same concept like PA RISC(ie.PDC,ISL etc).

Hi,
connect to the console of the system/nPar first. Let the machine boot from the boot device but stop the hpux loader process within the given time frame.
In the loader utility load the kernel using the single user argument:
> boot vmunix -is

You need to be logged into the console and watch the server boot/reboot. Interupt the autoboot phase where it waits for 10 seconds.
enter the command to boot into single user mode
Type boot pri isl at the prompt.
At the ISL prompt:, type hpux -iS /stand/vmunix
enter the command to boot into single user mode
Type boot pri isl at the prompt.
At the ISL prompt:, type hpux -iS /stand/vmunix
