single user mode v-class

How do you boot to single user mode on a V class from the main menu. On other systems I halt the boot and get the main menu. Then I would choose "bo pri" and it would ask me if I want to interact with the IPL. However on the V-class it just boots up without asking about the IPL.

Re: single user mode v-class

Try: bo -is
or try: bo pri -is
This works for me.

Also, break out of Start-up Checklist item: ctrl-shift-pipe

Good Luck!

Re: single user mode v-class

I believe you just put in "is" after you interrupt the boot process. It assumes you are booting primary and hpux and is only looking for arguments to the hpux command.

Re: single user mode v-class

interupt the boot sequence and at the "ISL>" prompt enter hpux -is to boot up in single user mode

Re: single user mode v-class

Hi Jeff,

Either type
bo pri isl
and when you get the ISL prompt
hpux -is

or type
bo pri -is

Both work for me

Re: single user mode v-class

There is no IPL/ISL on V class systems. Simply interrupt the boot process and type:

boot -is
