single user mode

Hello, Im using hp workstation zx2000 (itanium) and hp-ux os is installed as i want to go to single user mode,how can i go to single user mode in the above workstation of HP-UX OS...?

In HP 9000 "Shutdown" command get system into single user mode i didn't try it on itanium.

Use the console ip and login. Reboot or boot it and interrupt at prompt and give as boot -IS will send you to single user mode.

one way give command
shutdown now

will take you single user mode

second way
press any key in 10 seconds comes on screen after restart system .press key and than at prompt apply command
hpux -ls

Hi Muhammed,

These are the steps to go to single user mode in itanium.

1.Reboot the machine

2.Press any key when you see the following message "Press Any Key to interrupt Autoboot "
3.type "boot vmunix" on <\EFI\HPUX\AUTO> prompt
4.type "boot -is" on prompt
