Slow Remote LP
Hi,
I have setup the remote lp printer using sam. But when I print big file (5MB), it takes very long time to print. even most offten get timeout and the printer goes down (lpstat shows disable).
I tried to FTP the 5MB file and it takes over 5 minutes.
Already I have checked the NIC and it was configuard to 100HD but the switches are 100FD.
Appart from the NIC, what else i can check on rlp?
Please help me.
Server Details.

Re: Slow Remote LP
In your other thread, you were trying to get the NIC set to 100FD, did you ever get that resolved?

"Appart from the NIC, what else i can check on rlp?"
Basically, not really. 100HD trying to talk to 100FD is *not* good. If you can't fix the NIC, you'll need to get the switch adjusted....

Re: Slow Remote LP
Hi,
I have got the patch (PHNE_17000) now. But i am not allowed to put in the Live system without testing. So I am going to test on the test system first. However I have to buy NIC (100FD Supportable) for the test system.
I have ordered one and waiting for it.
I beleive this is the right card according to the supplier.
J3515A 10/100baseT LAN
Bus Type: HSC (FF EISA)
Server Model: D
Number of Ports: 1
Type: TX
Driver: btlan4
HP-UX: 10.20 or later
SW Product: J3623BA
HW Product: J3515A
Maximum cards per system: 4
Ports: 1 RJ45
1 AUI
Full Duplex: Yes
Auto negotiation: Yes
Autosensing (10-100 Mbps): Yes
Nettl subsystem: GSC100BT
/etc/rc.config.d file: hpgsc100conf
Thanks,Dunstan.
