Within SAM under Process Management I've a large number of process under root with the command of "vx_inactive_thread". What's going on here?

The vx_inactive_thread processes are normal. They are part of the vxfs file system. I've got 50 of the processes on one system and 51 on another. Those processes should NOT be adversely affecting system performance.

If you do a search in the ITRC technical knowledge base you will see a number of documents that talk about this.

There is a patch if you see vx_inactive_thread taking up 100% of a CPPU. PHKL_15479 deals with this. Otherwise I don't think much can be done.
