SNMP trap & MCSG

Hi,

Will SNMP agent gets installed by default with MCSG ??
How can we use the SNMP trap to trigger when a package fail-over happens ??

Re: SNMP trap & MCSG

Serviceguard loads 'cmsnmpd' when installed. This daemon sends SG state-change traps to 'snmpdm' (master SNMP daemon). snmpdm transmits on ports 161/162 (/etc/services).

See document UMCSGKBRC00013666 (available in the ITRC knowledge documents).

HP does not supply a current list of MIB object definitions for Serviceguard.

The HP Openview application can monitor Serviceguard.
