snmp trap dest having trouble
Hi all:
Got ia64 systems with 11.23 HPUX.
I am working on an issue in which snmp traps are not being sent from the originating host. What I am seeing in the /vart/adm/snmpd.log is the following:
Ignoring unknown record type: trap-dest myhost.mydomain.com
at line 1197 in file /view/build_15.3/DE/snmpr/sec
lib/scanfile.c
This message appears for either the IP address or the hostname of the trap recipient.
Are there known problems with this?
Thanks

Re: snmp trap dest having trouble
I have sent to HP for their eval. They do not know what is happening either.
In the meantime, if somebody has seen it and responds, I would be very interested.
Otherwise, I will post updates to inform others
