snmpsched daemons

Anyone know what causes these daemons to take up all of the cpu on a server? This happens intermittently on an N-class running 11i. Most of the time the daemons are dormant, but then without any obvious provocation, they (4 of them in this case) run amok and bring the server to it's knees... Any help is appreciated!
