Soft link to a mount point
Hi, guys
I have an issue about using soft link to a filesystem. That option can decrease performance?
I use that choice instead of change filesystem's name.

Re: Soft link to a mount point
I'm not sure if you can use a mountpoint to a softlink since all mountpoints exist in /etc/fstab and /etc/mountab. So experiment and reboot to see if it takes.
As for performance issues, I've never seen any performance problems using softlinks except with nfs file systems.

Re: Soft link to a mount point
Soft links dont affect performance, because its
only a pointer to the inode
only a pointer to the inode
Windows?, no thanks
