mount the CDROM, and copy it to another location, or directly from CD/DVD,
if its on the tape, use tar or pax to extract the sw to the disk location,
and them simple install.
if its a depot them swinstall, and if its not HP sw follow the installation guide.

if read it you will be able to install your applications.
