software question

Hello i have downloaded NodeHostNameXpnd_B.11.23.01.depot product . I was not able to apply it using swinstall. Initially when i downloaded this prodcut i got something called download key. where should i use it. Right now i have a NodeHostNameXpnd_B.11.23.01.depot in my hpux box.when i try to install using swinstall i get I/O error .please advice what was wrong.

What version of HP-UX? (I *think* this is for 11.23 / 11iv2 only)

What is the exact swinstall command you used?

What is the exact output that you received?

swinstall -s /tmp/NodeHostNameXpnd_B.11.23.01.depot

YOu need to add a '\*' to the end of your swinstall command to tell it what to install.

Your command should look like:

swinstall -s /tmp/NodeHostNameXpnd_B.11.23.01.depot \*
