Solaris-HPUX VxVM/VxFS Compatibiility Q?
SAN or multiported array scenario (ie. XP512, HDS 9960 or StorEdge 9960):
On a Sun Server I have a Veritas DiskGroup (DG)with Filesystems (VxFS) on it. I deport the whole DG. I have an HPUX11i (MAR2003) boxen also connected to the environment with the same version of VxVM and VxFS (3.5) as the Solaris Box. If I do an import - will it allow me to? If I did manage to import the DG - can I mount the Filesystems? And if I am able to mount the Filesystems - can I do backups on it using its new host (ie. using HP's vxdump or NetBackup?).
Anyone done ths scenario before? Thoughts? Hav enot approached Veritas yet but will soon...

Re: Solaris-HPUX VxVM/VxFS Compatibiility Q?
Okay... just in:
VxVM diskgroup import "might" work but cross platform access of VxFS filesystems is not supported "yet". We will need to wait for VxFS 4.0 (or whatever its HPUX - OJFS version equivalent isfor those sites staying with that OEM version of VxFS..)
My gut feel is if you have a "portable" filesystem setting on top of these VxVM diskgroups -- that it will work. Otherwise wait for VxFS 4.0.
