Something about Itanium
I've setup an Itanium machine with a 11.23 oe installed on it.
And I execute ioscan -funCdisk and it comes out this:
disk 2 0/1/1/0.1.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 36.4GATLAS10K
3_36_SCA
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0 /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0s1 /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0s1
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0s2 /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0s2
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0s3 /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0s3
that's so different from 11.11
Can you provide me some document which could tell me the disk management in 11.23 in detail?
Thx in advance

Re: Something about Itanium
Looks like the device names are different, nothing else. Something I don't like about the Itaniums is they ship with 10k disks instead of 15k disks.
LVM is exactly the same command set as you are sued to from 11.11
There are no significant differences that I've discovered in working with the three Itaniums I occaisionally work on here.
Please make an effort to improve your point assignment ratio. Even if someone has been a little helpful, a point or two is good ettiquette here.

Re: Something about Itanium
Partioning of the root disk in Itanium server is not same as in PARISC server. There will be normally 2 or three partition will be available in the root disk.
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0s1 ->Is EFI partion of 500MB in size (default).
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0s2 -> HPUX partion
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0s3 ->This is the service partion where all the offline Diagnostic utilities will be stored. It is not mandatory but recomended.
Root disk partitioning & Root disk mirroring have some different procedure rest are all of same as HPUX 11i.
Thanks and regards
