source quench and ip implementation on hp-ux 11.00

Hello,

I have some questions regarding hp-ux 11.00 and it's implementation of udp .

Suppose an hp-ux 11.00 system receives so many udp packets that the udp buffers fill up and it sends a source quench packet (or would have sent one had the ndd flag ip_send_source_quench not previously been set to zero).

If the chatty sender disregards the source quench and continues to send at a high rate causing the udp buffers to overflow, what will happen?

Will the ip implementation discard udp packets? Will it discard tcp packets? Will full udp buffers affect the availability of tcp buffers?

Note, the question specifically has to do with hp-ux 11.00's implementation of ip, not to do with what it's supposed to do or what the RFC says is the right thing to do.

TIA
