spam
I have a user that has complained of receving spam in her mail folder. I have checked others and it appears that she's the only one and I have just removed over 4500+ emails from her account (not a typo)
Is there anyway I could set up HP-UX so that her emails get blocked or bounced back to sender, or perhaps redirected to another email account?

Re: spam
/etc/rc.config.d/mailservs
export SENDMAIL_SERVER=0
export SENDMAIL_SERVER_NAME=
export SENDMAIL_RECVONLY=0
export SENDMAIL_SENDONLY=0
/sbin/init.d/sendmail stop
You will still be able to receive on the local system as well as send email out.

Re: spam
If the user doesn't need mail on that system, stop sendmail from listening as shown by Geoff.
If for some reason the system does need to accept mail, change the users username.
Close the old account, all the spam will bounce "User Unknown"
They spammers love that, trust me.
I use throwaway mail accounts for about a year at a time. When the spam piles up, I change them out.

Re: spam
in a file called /etc/mail/access
userid@yourdmian.com ERROR:"553 reject...wrong email address..."
Thats a TAB between the email addy and the ERROR
Then create the hash:
makemap hash /etc/mail/access
Then stop/start sendmail:
/sbin/init.d/sendmail stop
/sbin/init.d/sendmail start
I can't remember off of the top of my head if by default access.db is compiled with HP-UX sendmail...
If not, you will have to download the source and compile it yourself...
