Spinlock timeout failure

One of our boxes (K270, HP-UX 11.0) crashed and rebooted this morning.
The OLDsyslog shows:
vmunix: Spinlock timeout failure.

The /etc/shutdownlog shows:
Reboot after panic: Spinlock deadlock!

I need help on this one. I do not know what "Spinlock" is.

Any/all help greatly appreciated. Points WILL be assigned--as always.
Thanks,
Andy

Re: Spinlock timeout failure

A Spinlock failure is when a processor is spinning on something and fails to release th elock. It is NOT normally the spinlock code, but sometyhing else

I would recommend you get your HP Response Centre to analyxze this as they can be difficult
My house is the bank's, my money the wife's, But my opinions belong to me, not HP!

Re: Spinlock timeout failure

We just experienced this last weekend. An analysis of the crash dump showed that accessive LPMC I-CACHE errors caused this. The suggested fix from HP was to replace the processor.
command line # or GUI ?
