ssh : connection to .... closed by remote host

Hello,
I'm triing to deploy ssh on my hpux and aix boxes
On HPUX (openssh 4.1)it works perfectly
However my issues start with my AIX 4.3 box (OpenSSH 3.7, it's the last easy installable release)
On this box I'm able to make a openssh localhost
However then I do a ssh (ssh ik-064) from a remote machine it does the following :
...
debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey).
debug2: fd 6 setting O_NONBLOCK
debug1: channel 0: new [client-session]
debug2: channel 0: send open
debug1: Entering interactive session.
debug1: channel 0: free: client-session, nchannels 1
debug1: fd 1 clearing O_NONBLOCK
Connection to ik-064 closed by remote host.
Connection to ik-064 closed.
debug1: Transferred: stdin 0, stdout 0, stderr 75 bytes in 0.4 seconds
debug1: Bytes per second: stdin 0.0, stdout 0.0, stderr 201.8
debug1: Exit status -1
...

Any idea why it refuse the connection ?

Thanks in advance for the help

Mathieu

Hey;

Is the HP box or the IBM box refusing the connection? Either way, check the system log (HP:/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log IBM:?) for details.

Alot of the time, the reasons for failed connections will be recorded there.

HTH;

Doug
