ssh takes a long time to connect (ssh_prng_cmds problem i think)

It was taking several minutes to login to another system from an hpux box. We determined, with hp's help, that most of that time was spent executing the commands in /opt/ssh/etc/ssh_prng_cmds. I commented out the more long running commands but it still takes
5 to 10 seconds to login.

I could comment out several more cmds, but I was wondering if there were a better way to get hpux to generate this psuedo random number, or better commands to use in the file.

I am running hpux 11.0.

Any hellp would be appreciated.

Hi,

HP has a rather new product - KRNG11I I believe is the name - which will alleviate the need to generatet pseudo random numbers via the commands.
But this is for 11iv1 or higher only.

I was told that KRNG11I was 11i only.

I never bothered trying to install it on an 11.00 box, but that may not be an answer here.

The 3.6 upgrade of Secure Shell does help with the connect speed issue. My 11.00 box without the KRNG11I product installed now does instant connects. Back with 3.1 it was quite the snail connector.
