Re: SSL Accelerator

Hi

http://www.hp.com/large/news/services/aug01_c.html

Over time, network administrators have used a variety of techniques to speed the processing of SSL transactions. One approach is to add more Web servers or CPUs, but hardware and licensing costs can make this prohibitive. Another method is to add SSL accelerator cards for each Web server. This speeds the processing of SSL transactions, but different cards are needed for various processors, and managing various device drivers and interface software can be complex.

And, for what it's worth, the Itanium processors excel at SSL. You might want to look into IPF in the future.

Re: SSL Accelerator

accelerator's are a pain in the arse, they require a lot of maintenance, and basically are very clumsy to work with! get an appliance to do it!. been there done that!
