Re: Standard internet services on a HP-UX host
I'm not sure what your trying to achieve... If you are looking to set up a host that can be used as a web server, there are many precautions that should be taken. Could you tell us exactly what you wish to do. I'm sure we can help further.

Re: Standard internet services on a HP-UX host
Hi,
could it be you are looking for tools/commands to check wether some TCP/IP services are running?
Then look into "netstat -a" and check the config file "/etc/inetd.conf"...
FWIW,
Wodisch

Re: Standard internet services on a HP-UX host
None of those commands are for the availibility of standard internet services.
If you want to know which one allows you to assign a device to an IP, then it's ifconfig.
(1) swlist is for listing installed software
(2) ioscan is for scanning for hardware devices
(3) lanscan will tell you what lan cards are configured
(4) ifconfig is for configuring a lan card
and BTW, it's HP-UX, not HP-UN.
