star archiver

Hi,

does someone knows where I can find the star archiver? I tried compiling it but its not viable for the project.
Im running this:
HP-UX mtlab2 B.11.11 U 9000/811 2016158590 unlimited-user license

Why not just use GNU's tar (which can read 'star' archiver archives) ?

I dont know why not use gnu tar... Im just porting some scripts that need star to run and the boss said it must be star. He said something about tar complaining if a given file grows while being archived, while star works without any trouble.

Star Archiver was written over 20 years ago - which is why I suggest GNU's tar.

Also Your boss is right, star has none of the bugs+flaws gtar has, and it is faster too.
