start weblogic 3.8Gb fial in RP3440
Hi all,
I fail to set high heap size for weblogic in HP-UX.
The hardware platform:
HP RP3440 , 4 CPU with 8 GB RAM
OS patch:
Installed latest patchset from HP and JDK 1.4.06
Chatr enable +q3p and +q4p to the java
Weblogic:
Standalone instance 8.1 sp2
We can start the weblogic by this JVM setting
-server -XX:+UseParallelGC -Xmn800m -Xmx3000m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -XX:SurvivorRatio=5
However, when we use this JVM setting.
We got this error when start the weblogic.
-server -XX:+UseParallelGC -Xmn800m -Xmx3072m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -XX:SurvivorRatio=5
**************************************************
* To start WebLogic Server, use a username and *
* password assigned to an admin-level user. For *
* server administration, use the WebLogic Server *
* console at http://[hostname]:[port]/console *
***************************************************
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for ParallelScavenge old gen heap
Our goal is using 3.8Gb JVM heap size. It is the max for 32bit.
any advice?
Nico

Nico,
Amit seems to have had the same problem:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=890410.
Are you also loading shared libraries, that could blow your limit?
I assume you have reset your maxdsiz / maxdsiz_64bit to at least 4Gb?
