STK 8500 Library Support on HP-UX
Customer has IBM TSM as a backup solution and would like to replace AIX with HP-UX as the BACKUP SERVER.
On AIX, TSM comes with two ACS (Automated Cartridge System) client daemons (an event logger and the Server Subsystem Interface). These client daemons run on AIX and permit TSM to interact (via TCP/IP) with the ACSLS server running on a SUN as ACSLS is not supported on hp-ux directly.
Does anyone have this running or know where to find the software for HP-UX to talk to the SUN system in a TSM backup environment?

Re: STK 8500 Library Support on HP-UX
I don't believe the configuration you want is supported. According to the doc below:
"Note that when using a shared ACSLS library, the library manager must be a Tivoli Storage Manager server on AIX(R), Solaris, or Windows(R)."
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v1r1/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.itsmagent.doc/anrhst5319.htm
I would suggest calling TSM support though to verify this.

Re: STK 8500 Library Support on HP-UX
HI
ON HP-UX, YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE SSI DEAMON RUNNING. cREATE ANOTHER SSI DEAMON ON A DIFFERENT SERVER AND POINT THE LIBRARY CONFIG TO THAT SERVER
