STM having problems connecting to hostname

I have a problem which has cropped up on a number of machines with STM regularly. When I go into stm I get the error:
An unexpected error has been encountered while attempting to connect to hostname.
This tends to go away with a reboot or a restart of stm, but I need to know what's causing the problem because I can't keep restarting stm. The etc/hosts file looks ok and nslookup is fine. We've recently installed PHSS_24044, which included some specific fixes for stm.

Re: STM having problems connecting to hostname

Hi Sharon

Try renaming the reslov.conf file , it looks to me that there is some problem in the way it address the hosts .

Can you run SAM properly ? , or ping to the local hostname does it look fine.

Re: STM having problems connecting to hostname

The file is /etc/resolv.conf , change it to resolv.conf.old or something else .
