STM log files

I am running STM and do not seem to have any raw log files appearing. I have modified the diaglogd config file and the diagmond config file to try and produce the maximum amount of info and restarted the daemons to change the system but to no avail. The STM documentation does not help me much. Can anyone else? The system is a K class running 10.20 with STM A.25.0

Re: STM log files

More info - I have now rebooted the system totally and also tried to find raw files on an A500 running 11.00, an L2000 running 11.00 - varying versions of STM. No raw files to be seen anywhere - is this usual, the STM tutorials on the HP websites all seem to assume that raw files are created automatically. All info welcome. TIA steve

Re: STM log files

Hi Steve ,

Check for the stm log files in :

/var/stm/logs/os/

You will get logxxx.raw ..etc.

cheers,
Raj.

Re: STM log files

Hi Steve,
The raw files will only appear when there are events logged, so the absence of the files is not an error.

Some things to check:
Are diaglogd and diagmond running? What about the monitors? What does /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/moncheck show? Are there any errors logged in /var/opt/resmon/log/api.log or .../client.log?

As I'm sure you know, 10.20 is no longer supported. However, given that, the best version of OnlineDiags to run on 10.20 is A.29.00 plus PHSS_29444 (for s800, for an s700 you'd need PHSS_29443), as this has most of the known defects fixed.
