I am having 2*rp7410 with STM installed on HP11i. I am seeing different no. of Memory slots in `Memory Inventory' on these two servers.
One server (SERVER1) shows each Cell Board has 8 slots out of which some are filled (Slot0 of DIMM A/B/C/D filled on both Cell Boards), . Whereas on another server (SERVER2), I see only 4 slots per Cell Board, in this on CAB/CEll:0/1 Slot0,1,2 for DIMM A/B/C/D are filled and on CAB/CEll:0/0 Slot0,1,2,3 for DIMM A/B/C/D are filled.
I observed that SERVER1 has STM A38.00 whereas SERVER2 has STM A35.00.
Is it due to STM version?
Has anybody faced this problem?
You may refer an attachment.
Regards,
Samir

Re: STM Memory Inventory
Is it possible that the server with 7 slots has additional memory carriers?
Pop the hood(s) and compare them.

Re: STM Memory Inventory
Are you sure server2 is a rp7410? and not a rp7420?

Re: STM Memory Inventory
Both servers are rp7410.
I opened both servers physically and found that Server1 has shown correct Memory Inventory. It has 4 Memory slots free on CellBoard1. Server2 has shown incorrect Memory Inventory i.e. 64 Memory slots together instead of 32 Memory slots. Actually Server2 has 12 Memory Slots free on CellBoard1 and 8 Memory Slots free on CellBoard0.
I conclude that STM 35.00 on Server1 has a problem.

Samir

SolutionYes, this was a known problem with the A.35.00 release that is fixed in the A.38.00 version. You can see this in the release notes online at http://www.docs.hp.com/en/diag/stm/str_0303_11i.htm
Here's the relevant section:
Changes to Specific Tools
* Information tools:
...
JAGae39817
Memory Information Tool was displaying 32 DIMM slots on Matterhorn and Keystone machines, when they have 16 DIMM slots only. Changes have been made so that only 16 DIMM slots are displayed for Matterhorn, Keystone, Leone, and Perfpak classes of machines.
(This is using internal system names, which it shouldn't be. Matterhorn = rp7410, Keystone = rp8400.)
As already advised, you should install a more up-to-date version of OnlineDiags, together with the latest patch. See http://www.docs.hp.com/en/diag/stm/stm_upd.htm#table for the latest releases. The latest version for 11.11 is A.47.00/HWE0412, and the current patch to apply to that is PHSS_32492.
