STM upgrade and patch PHCO_23261
I have to do a firmware upgrade on a autoraid.
Before the firmware upgrade PHCO_23261 has to installed and an upgrade to STM from A.1.9 to A.2.9. Being fairly new I have never done a firmware upgrade which I understand is not a big deal but I need to put this patch on and do the STM upgrade and I will be alone in the evening. Just want to make sure I
can avoid any proplems if possiable.
How involved is the STM upgrade and how do
I back out of it if there is a problem.
I am assuming the patch is not a big deal
no reboot is required but I think I should wait
untill the outage to apply it. Any information is appreciated

Re: STM upgrade and patch PHCO_23261
Donald,
Understand your concern, however, PHCO patches are "non-intrusive" 99.9994% of the time.
Regards,
RZ

patches
look up your patch, read the spec and check for reboot. Thse patches really are pretty inocuous.
Also look at dependencies.
If you've already downloaded it, sh PHCO_23261 look at the text file for this info.
If you are realy nervous, use make_tape_recovery to create an Ignite image tape prior to the update. This will give you the ability to recover from anything bad that happens.
