stoping audit service

hi

i need to stop audit service since its generating log files resulting in file system increase of var,,

how can i do it by smh ,, ( or ) do some other option available

Hello,

One simple method:

a) Edit /etc/rc.config.d/auditing and set:

AUDITING=0

Leave the rest of file intact. This will
disable auditing from starting again at boot
time.

b) Stop auditing now:

# /sbin/init.d/auditing stop

This should suffice.
