How do verify what kind of storage device was installed on the Unix server? For ex: If the stroage is HP FC60, then which command or which way to verify it?

Hi,
Well it's not 100% clear usually especially
with old storage devices but most usefull I found to be stm.
Run cstm,receive command line prompt -
cstm>
Run map -
cstm>map
It should bring you map tree of devices,storage
arrays usually appear with Hp Product number which can later be verified in partsurfer.hp.com.
Also can run:
cstm>sel dev
cstm>info
cstm>infolog
It gives some more information.Sam and ioscan usually also show some hints.

As FC10 is JBOD
If you are using an intelligent array of some kind then sam/mstm will help as there are almost as many commands as there are devices

Hi,
I don't think we have much scope about this in Unix.
Generally ioscan and cstm/stm give the info about Hp storage and if you are using some other vendors storage it may not help.
infact for HP storage like fc60 you can use array manager's commands.
