thanks

Re: Strange NOTICE in syslog.log
Hi,
The patches Robert mentioned are for 10.20.
I have seen similar messages on 11.0 and the hp doc HPUXKBRC00000272 talks about it.
/Begin/
Dmesg: gate 64: sysvec_vaddr, Unexpected interrupt on EIRR bit 32
DocId:
HPUXKBRC00000272
Updated:
1/3/00 2:49:46 PM
PROBLEM
Why does dmesg report the following:
gate64: sysvec_vaddr = 0xc0002000 for 1 pages
Unexpected interrupt on EIRR bit 32
NOTICE: autofs_link(): File system was registered at index 3.
NOTICE: nfs3_link(): File system was registered at index 5.
RESOLUTION
gate64: sysvec_vaddr = 0xc0002000 for 1 pages
This message is simply informational and will currently appear on all LP64 kernels. It
is telling the virtual address of the gateway page (entry point for system calls).
Unexpected interrupt on EIRR bit 32
This message is also informational and prints as a result of a 32bit or 64bit kernel.
The EIRR (External Interrupt Request Register) was reported when a processor or
interrupt handler started and the kernel detected the bit 32 was 1.
NOTICE: autofs_link(): File system was registered at index 3.
NOTICE: nfs3_link(): File system was registered at index 5.
These are normal messages for systems that are using nfs mounts.
/End/
There is another document A5146219 which talks about the nfs3_link messages being informational and is just to indicate that NFS protocol version 3(PV3) is supported.
-HTH
