Strange "cmviewcl" problem

Hi Experts,

I have a very strange problem !!!!
The o/p of "cmviewcl" says the package / service are up. But, in reality, the services are not up. Is this possible ??
Have any one seen anything like this ??
OR atleast, can we imagine any scenario like this ??

(HPUX 11.23 IA & MCSG 11.16)

Regards,

Re: Strange "cmviewcl" problem

Check the cluster log/syslog Ramesh.

Do you have any scprit which is started by the cluster and gives a exit 0 even if failure? I think that may be cuase. Just check.

Check bdf, you applications etc.

Re: Strange "cmviewcl" problem

If you are not monitoring the service after it is started, it is possible. Put a proper monitoring script in place that will exit when your process/service is no longer running.

If you provide some more details, perhaps we can give some better examples.

Thanks,

Re: Strange "cmviewcl" problem

Sure, ServiceGuard is reporting what it is told to - if you have a "don't monitor flag" set - then it will think the service is up - if you are not monitoring the service - then it will also show as being up...
