strange "updated cmclconfig" in syslog.log
I occasionally found that in the syslog.log there is a message read "updated cmclconfig". But I have done nothing with the MC/SG configuration, who can tell me what's happening there?

Re: strange "updated cmclconfig" in syslog.log
The cmclconfig is updated whenever the SG config changes (e.g. by a cmapplyconf) and more generally spoken if the internal Cluster Database (CDB) is updated.
On SGOPS clusters (now renamed to SGeRAC) the cmclconfig is always updated when a group membership client joins or leave its group (i.e. if a Oracle lck or lmon process starts or dies). Since the actual group membership is stored in the CDB, this becomes necessary.
Also when a node starts (cmrunnode) it first checks whether it has the most recent version of cmclconfig and copies it over if required.
You see that updates of the cmclconfig binary are pretty normal and are nothing to worry about.

Re: strange "updated cmclconfig" in syslog.log
Hi,
There's nothing to really worry about. This happens at a regular interval (usually once a day). It's the cmclconfd-daemon "saving" your configuration. There's other threads about this (search forums with "cmclconfd").
Hope this helps,
Tom
