Stuck at ISL Prompt
I have a hp9000 B1000 workstation using HP-UX 10.2. I am stuck at the ISL prompt.
Whenever I try to boot up(hpux -is) I get the following error message "/stand/vmunix /stand not found"
I've tried hpux -ls, and I get "can't open / directory"
When I search for the devices at bootup I only see pO - IDE and P1 fwscsi.6.0 (I've tried to boot using bo alt but I still can't get anywhere
This is a new machine with no important files.
Can I reinstall with the HPUX Install and Core OS software and start over?
All the documentation and help I have received tells me to boot up off of my CDrom. I don't have a tape drive installed. How can I see my CDrom drive? What are the steps need to recover?

Re: Stuck at ISL Prompt
Sounds like there is no good OS on the disk. As long as there is nothing important including network information, you can re-install HP-UX. You may want to use a later copy of the install CD (later than mid-98) because it will have more upto date files and patches. Good Luck!!

Re: Stuck at ISL Prompt
To boot from the cd, ensure that the install/core 0S cd is in the cd drive.
Then doing a 'search ipl' should list that device too.
Then just boot from it and away you go. It's a guided installation and fairly straightforward.
